Upkarma (Local) Therapies

Abhyangam literally means ‘to massage’. It is the name of an Ayurvedic therapy that harmonizes the body and soul.

Janu Basti (Knee Therapy)

A specialized Ayurvedic treatment where warm medicated oil is retained over the knee joint to nourish and strengthen it.

Greeva Basti (Neck Therapy)

Virechan (Purgation Therapy)

A detoxification procedure that eliminates excess pitta (heat) from the body through controlled purgation.

Raktamokshan (Bloodletting Therapy)

A purification therapy that removes impure blood using leeches or controlled incisions.

PatraPotli (Herbal Leaf Pouch Therapy)

Warm herbal leaf pouches are used to massage the body, relieving pain and stiffness.

LavanPotli (Salt Pouch Therapy)

A therapy using heated salt-filled pouches to relieve pain and inflammation.

PindaSwed (Bolus Massage Therapy)

A technique where warm medicinal herbs and rice are tied in a cloth and used for massage.

Swedan (Sudation Therapy)

A process of inducing sweat through herbal steam to remove toxins and relax muscles.

Vaman (Therapeutic Emesis)

A Panchakarma detox therapy that eliminates excess Kapha (mucus) from the body by inducing vomiting.
