Uttar Basti is a specialized Panchakarma therapy performed under sterile conditions to treat urogenital and reproductive health issues in both men and women. The procedure begins with a pre-treatment preparation where the patient is assessed for dosha imbalance and advised to follow a light diet and cleanse the bladder and bowel before therapy. During the main procedure, the patient lies in a supine position while the genital area is cleansed and sterilized. A sterile catheter or nozzle is carefully inserted into the urethra (for men) or vagina (for women) and a prescribed quantity of medicated oil or herbal decoction is gently instilled. The patient is advised to retain the medicine for a short duration to allow absorption. After the procedure post-treatment care includes rest, a light diet and avoiding strenuous activities or exposure to cold. Multiple sessions may be required for optimal results. Uttar Basti is highly effective in treating PCOS, menstrual disorders, infertility, recurrent UTIs, and urinary tract disorders, promoting complete urogenital and reproductive wellness.
